Mechakari is now reaping the benefits of having been the first company to do ads with Keyakizaka46. Even before Silent Majority, they had made an agreement with the group and were producing brilliant little PVs advertising their service.
Mechakari is a "rent all you want" fashion rental service. You pay about $60 a month and can have up to three of their items at any one time. In Japan, with its fast freight services, this is a good deal.
Aki-P has said that when they were deciding to go in the cool direction with K46, they played Silent Majority for the head of mechakari, and if he had said he didn't like it, they would have recorded something different. But he liked it, and the rest is history.
Part of that history is the rapid growth of mechakari. The company began in the fall of 2015, and their app is now Japan's most-used fashion app. The company is part of Stripe International, which also owns Kanko and earth music&ecology, the makers of the alternative uniforms that Hiragana Keyaki advertises.
Here's the mechakari website.
Why do I not think this is the real new single? Too derivative from previous MVs, with its industrial setting and some Fukyouwaon dance moves. Not impossible. The suits are great. But I doubt it. Haven't heard enough of the song to judge on that alone, though.
