There's a great series of surreal "mannequin" Mechakari web ads out now, with multiple appearances by all Hinatazaka members -- particularly Memi. The basic idea is mannequins in a store window with time on their hands because everyone is renting clothes from Mechakari rather than buying them at a store.

First, here is one of the main ads, this one featuring Memi, Takase Mana, Sasaki Mirei and 2gen Kamimura Hinano.

Memi: We've got a lot of time on our hands. Mana: What are those art objects about? Memi: You can have a free one-month trial with Mechakari. Mana: That's the zero, eh. Mirei: What? Y5800 turns into zero? Hinano: So you get three garments [at a time] for zero? Memi: "That's right" (in English). Mirei: So that's why this store has zero customers? All: "That's right."

There is also an online lottery, with immediate feedback: there are 20 combinations of members saying: "You lost!" And one ad with all members celebrating if you win. Here are Memi and Miyata Manamo with the burikko freestyle version of "you lost," lol.

Here are all 20 versions of the "you lost" (hazure) clips. And here are all 8 of the main ads. And here's the lottery campaign.

Next, here's something from Hinatazaka's appearance at the ZIP Spring Festival. Memi was asked to show her burikko style, and said: "I want you to fall in love with me, meow." And she did one of her cat imitations, with paw and facial expression both. You can see Katoshi and Kumi being freaked out in the background, lol:

One of the other acts on the show was Polkadot Stingray, and their female member Shizuku tweeted later:

Today, on a monitor in the dressing room, I was able to watch the talk after Hinatazaka46’s performance…
A fantastically beautiful girl…said: "I want you to fall in love with me, nyan!"
I fell in love with her….

I got as excited as the bold otaku in the hall….

So cute….

I was done for….

In a later Tweet, she said:

People inform me that the angel was Kakizaki Memi….

Thank you for telling me.

Is this love…?

Within the group, there are various remarks about Memi. Nao-chan likes the way she says "That's right" in the Mechakari ad at the top of this post. And Miho spoke about her in an interview last year:

Miho – Recently we’ve become good friends. She’ll suddenly stick her finger in my ear (laughs) and when I go “Kyaa!” she laughs and runs away.
Nibu – Ehhh! (laughing)
Miho – At first, we didn’t talk at all. But we started to talk when we were in the Magia Record play. We’re often in symmetrical positions, and have steadily gotten closer.
Nibu – I’d like to get closer to her, too!
Miku – Uh-huh. Me, too.
Miho – Memi-san is still in second year, right? But she seems so adult. I think of her as someone with a cool and objective point of view.

Finally, here is a selection of images from the March 30 Hiragana Oshi, showing Memi and Miho doing the most gruelling part of the Tokyo-Mishima Shrine 120km road relay to pray for the success of their single Kyun. They start out in fine fettle:

Then they start the hell of the seven-bend climb (there are actually 12 bends). The red letters are a quote from Memi: "Are they trying to kill us?"

But both Miho and Memi have enough breath to shout out from the mountainside. Memi gets a faint echo to "Hinatazaka!":

Things get tougher as they work away at their twelve-kilometer climb:

Near the end, Miho has plenty of stamina, but Memi is at her limit and crying as she runs. Memi was always a short-distance runner, not a long-distance runner. Just today I read a comment that Memi is the type of person who will cry, but still keep going:

And at the finish line, Memi is totally spent, leaning on Kumi and Miho, with Nao patting her on the back:

By the time Kumi and Nao had finished the next and final stage, however, Memi seemed fine again.

There's a complete outline of the road relay here, with maps, etc.

Finally, here's the Memi-Mana Tiktok video of the KyunKyun dance. Many members have made them:

Finally finally...here's a shot of Memi showing Mechakari clothing:
